Battle Report: General Ross and the Hulkbuster Soldiers VS theIncredible Hulk

Build:
* 300 points +/-

* two General Rosses (one gravfeed, one IH booster), four Hulkbuster Soldiers, and GW Bridge from the DEADPOOL set, for a total of 329 points (IIRC)

* the AOU gravfeed Hulk at 300 points

Map:
The Street Battle map from the AVENGERS FCBD starter set, with five papercraft cars.

Report:

The Hulkbuster Soldiers rolled for initiative. Three soldiers were placed behind an overturned car, forming a firing squad. The soldiers have an interesting trait where their Attacks are boosted +1 and automatically granted Precision Strike if the target has a Damage value of 4 or more.

The Hulk picks up a car (an object I declared Heavy for game purposes) and runs to the soldiers with it, just close enough to set up for Charge for his next turn.

GW Bridge moves out and hides behind a car. He targets Hulk with Outwit, Outwitting Hulk's Super Strength, forcing him to drop the car, but earns him his first Anger token.

Booster General Ross then moves behind the soldiers to boost their Attack and Damage values even more, prepping the firing squad for a forthcoming Hulk Smashing.

Hulk Charges GW Bridge, rolling for 3 for 6 damage.

Hulk smashes GW Bridge to paste. It activates Hulk's Avengers Assemble trait, and the soldiers declare to deal unavoidable damage (and an action token) to gravfeed General Ross, pushing him to his Countdown click.

Unfortunately, Hulk is forced to clear next turn, giving the soldiers opportunity to whittle down his defenses.

An opportunity they really took advantage of, as with booster General Ross upping the soldiers' Attack to 11, the Hulkbuster Soldiers kept rolling really really high rolls for two turns, whittling Hulk's dial down to his seventh click.

But all the hitting inadverdently activated Hulk's stopclick with the special Regeneration - all the damage from the soldiers earned Hulk six Anger tokens, which were set aside and added to Hulk's Regen roll, allowing Hulk to go back to his first click. Regaining Super Strength, he carries an adjacent car.

Some of the soldiers YOLO'd and pushed and tried hitting Hulk, but only one succeeded. Everyone else had to clear their tokens. Hulk, being Colossal, was already adjacent to booster General Ross despite being two squares away, so he simply rolled for 3 for 7 damage, effectively flattening booster General Ross with the car.

Regaining composure, the soldiers started hitting Hulk again with their auto-Precision Strikes, with one soldier rolling a Critical Hit -

- but to no avail, as Hulk, Regenerated to his first three clicks, proves to be too much of a tank to the soldiers, picking them off one by one -

- before gravfeed General Ross decides to call in the aircav to drop a bomb on Hulk, rolling no less than a Critical Hit to seal the deal.

Hulk's Impervious roll reduces the bomb's damage to 0, but takes the Crit Hit damage. Ross's bomb also kills one of the soldiers as collateral damage. Demoralised, the one remaining soldier shits his pants as Hulk revvs up his arms to smash him to the ground.

Hulk then sets his eyes at Ross hiding behind a car.

Ross is forced to clear. Hulk then Charges, picks up the car Ross was hiding behind -

- then smashes Ross with it until he was an indistinguishable pink and white paste on the pavement.

Winner:

The Hulk, hands down. That stopclick special Regen is almost its own special relic, and with the Avengers Initiative TA, Hulk is quite the one-man army.
