Battle Report: Hulk, Angela, Maria Hill, and Rocket Raccoon with Utility Belt VS Shang Chi, Smasher, Captain America, and Manifold with Nova as ID Cavalry

Build:

* My team: AOU starter Hulk at 150 points, GOTG Angela, CA:WS Maria Hill, and GOTG movie starter Rocket Raccoon with full Utility Belt

* Opponent's team: DEADPOOL Shang Chi, AvAs Smasher, AOU starter Captain America, AvAs Manifold, and AvAs Nova as ID cavalry

Report:

I roll for initiative and Rocket Raccoon piggybacks on Angela who then piggybacks on Hulk who then moves to the halfway point of the map to elevated terrain overlooking the valley to set up a killbox.

Manifold then Carries all of his teammates to the middle of the valley, looking up at my team.

Maria Hill then draws line of fire through Manifold and Outwits Shang Chi's Combat Reflexes. Angela Charges down adjacent to him and hits with 3 damage. Hulk Charges, picks up a heavy object to hit Shang Chi with, but misses. Rocket Raccoon then takes a power action and snipes Shang Chi for 3 damage, killing him. Rocket then takes another shot, now at Captain America, but he misses. He then Outwits Smasher's Super Strength.

Captain America then Charges Angela, successfully hitting her. Smasher follows it up with her own Charge against Angela, effectively killing her. Manifold clears.

Rocket then Outwits Smasher's Invulnerability then snipes her twice from afar, killing her. Maria Hill draws line of fire through Manifold and Outwits Cap's damage power. Rocket rolls for the Utility Belt. Hulk tries to smash Cap, but Manifold Probs the attack, and Hulk misses.

Manifold summons Barrier to block Rocket's line of fire. Cap merely clears.

Maria Hill then draws line of fire through Cap to Outwit Manifold's Prob. The grapnel gun in the Utility Belt is active, so Rocket uses it to hop across the valley to the ice butte in the middle of the valley. Rocket then Outwits Cap's Toughness, then Hulk revs up to hit him, which refuses to connect. Rocket rolls for the Utility Belt, lands on a +2 dial for all his combat values.

Cap activates his 6-square-adjacency close combat attack and hits Rocket for 3 damage. Manifold merely clears. Maria Hill takes another power action and Outwits Manifold's Prob, then Rocket snipes Manifold for 5 damage, killing him. Rocket takes his second ranged attack and snipes Cap for 4 damage, which Hulk follows up with another 3 damage, effectively smashing the personification of the American Spirit of Democracy down to the icy ground of a valley tundra somewhere in Canada.

Winner:

My team. Once the killbox was set up, Cap, Smasher, et al, simply had no space to move through with all the Outwits and Rocket's two ranged attacks per turn. Hulk's rolls were consistently low, but it counted when it finally hit, and he proved to be an effective sponge and tie-up piece.

Hulk, Angela, Rocket Raccoon, and Maria Hill

Build:

AOU gravfeed Hulk at 250 points, GOTG Angela for 94 points, CA:WS Maria Hill for 60 points, and GOTG movie starter Rocket Raccoon for 75 points equipped with Full Utility Belt for 14 points. 493 points all in all.

Plan:

Assign UBelt to Rocket Raccoon for Indomitable and special TA Outwit. Rocket Raccoon piggybacks on Angela, Angela piggybacks on Hulk. Hulk acts as taxi for the two. Rocket Outwits a TA within ten squares and Outwits a power, all from behind Hulk and Angela.

Hulk will act as formidable tank, and Angela as more sophisticated more mobile brawler. Rocket ignores hindering terrain and other characters for targetting purposes so he will act as sneaky sniper especially with his Stealth and double ranged attack power, further enhanced by the UBelt.

Maria Hill will hang back at the starting area Outwitting opponents through their own lines of fire.

Addendum:

Run the team without Angela for 400 points. Swap AOU gravfeed Hulk with AOU starter Hulk at 150 points for 299 points.
