Animals VS Scientists

I built a build whose basic strategy is to spit out mobile and replenishable bystander figs that cost nothing - Pied Piper's rats, Red Wolf's Lobo, Klarion's Teekl - but can yield high rewards - Charge+Exploit Weakness and Charge+BCF - and the Animals won with only two actual casualties (Rocket Raccoon and Lockjaw)! The Druids have been a revelation from the WORLD'S FINEST set, too, really effective for tie-ups and subtracting 1 from the opponents' Attack values.

First time to play on the UN Assembly/Danny the Street maps, too - Danny was easier to use! The UN map had really confusing terrain with its elevations and walls. Still, managed to dominate both maps with a camp-out tactic.

Battle Report Short #004

Fiddler, Mirror Master, and Pied Piper with the Red Lantern Battery and three Avengers IDs - A build that's a couple of points shy of 300, but a build where I finally made the Red Lantern Power Battery work. Basic strategy was Pied Piper producing rats who are then assigned with Constructs primarily to give them Penetrating Poison and Giant Reach. Mirror Master provides excellent taxi service by having MM carry PP and Fiddler who then carry Rage Rats who then carry normal rats. MM and Fiddler provide Prob support, PP with Perplex and also copying MM's Suicide Squad TA.

I played against a Star Sapphire Toyman build with a bunch of reinforcement Toys. Advantage with Rats that Toys don't have is that opponents don't score any points when they KO them, and they replenish two at a time with no population cap, while the Toys are not respawnable and are scored when KO'd. Toys generally have really good Defense powers, plus a potential +1 boost thanks to a Perplex shared via Toyman, but the Rage Rats' Penetrating Poison will always trump those powers and advantages. The Rage Rats also have Giant Reach, which means they can do a basic Exploit Weakness attack or a Charge+Exploit Weakness attack from two squares away, and can Carry and position other Rage Rats for more Penetrating Poison action. They also have Battle Fury, so they ignore Shape Change.

What it came down to was 'porting my way across the map in three steps to base Toyman with three Penetrating Poison figs and two Probbers (one of whom ignores Stealth and characters), which in two turns Poisoned Toyman to death. It's a very effective team that can deal at least 1 Penetrating Damage in one way or another, and can do that as a respawnable horde, and can more or less move across the map in three turns. It's a team that has Nationals potential.

Battle Report: Rogues with Deathstorm VS SHIELD

Build:
* 300 points
* My team: ROGUES Fast Forces Pied Piper and Mirror Master sharing the SUICIDE SQUAD TA, with CRIME SYNDICATE Fast Forces Deathstorm, and about a dozen rats
* Opponent: WINTER SOLDIER gravfeed Captain America and Falcon and DEADPOOL booster GW Bridge

Map:
Keystone City map from FLASH OP kit

Report:
SHIELD rolled for initiative and moved about eight squares from their starting area, adjacent a building and behind some cars. Pied Piper rolled out four rats and Mirror Master transported PP and two rats adjacent another building almost opposite SHIELD. Deathstorm flew to the top of a building overlooking the middle of the map and Perplexed PP's defense +2, which PP also Perplexed +1, raising it to 20.

GW Bridge moved to the top of a car for placement then Outwitted one of PP's rats. Cap and Falcon cleared. Possessing Willpower, PP spawned two more rats. Deathstorm then Perplexed Bridge's defense down to 14 then two rats Charged Bridge for one damage each, both hitting. Mirror Master and Deathstorm both cleared.

Falcon rolled for breakaway then Sidestepped while Carrying Bridge from the rats. Cap Sidestepped then threw his shield at the two rats, killing both instantly.

Mirror Master then transported PP and two rats to the car opposite Cap. Deathstorm then ran and shot Cap for four damage, hitting. PP then cleared.

Falcon Sidestepped to place himself between Bridge and Cap to grant Enhancement. GW tried shooting the rats but Mirror Master Probbed the effort.

PP then spawned two more rats. Deathstorm Perplexed down GW's Defense once again then PP sicced two rats at him, killing him. Cap then threw his shield at Deathstorm, hitting him for one damage. Falcon then cleared.

MM then transported PP to a vantage point overlooking Cap. Deathstorm gambled and shot Cap for three damage. Falcon Sidestepped to prep to shoot PP and his rats with Energy Explosion. Cap attempted to throw his shield at Deathstorm, but he missed.

PP spawned two more rats, then MM and Deathstorm simply cleared. Falcon shoots one rat with Energy Explosion, succeeding, hitting one more rat, PP, and MM. As the two rats die, the SUICIDE SQUAD TA activates, then PP rolled for four clicks of life, then MM rolled for two clicks of life. Cap clears.

PP then spawns two more rats and attacks Cap with one of them, finally killing Cap. Falcon then moves into position along PP's flank to hit him with Energy Explosion, but then realised its futility thanks to the SUICIDE SQUAD TA, so he surrenders.

Winner:
Pied Piper, Mirror Master, Deathstorm, and the dozen or so rats that killed both GW Bridge and Captain America. With these two and the X-Men Blue Team teambase, the rats are proving themselves to be quite the MVPs!

Deathstorm, Pied Piper, and Mirror Master

Build:
TRINITY WAR booster Deathstorm for 150 points, with Pied Piper and Mirror Master from the ROGUES Fast Forces for 75 points each for a very basic 300-point build.

Plan:
Pied Piper will provide horde tactics with his Rats production, Mirror Master will provide transportation around the map. Rats en masse will provide bulk of force, especially with its Charge, Battle Fury (ignores Shape Change) and its special Exploit Weakness white power.

At least four Rats will always accompany Pied Piper and Mirror Master to provide bodyguard and interference. Pied Piper will copy Mirror Master's SUICIDE SQUAD TA, so PP and MM regen a click of life whenever a Rat gets KO'd.

Deathstorm will provide cavalry support with Running Shot and Energy Explosion that ignores elevated and hindering terrains, with an average of 3 Damage (4 at its highest).

Deathstorm will also provide boosts with his special +/-2 Perplex on 75-points-or-under figs, so he can always add to the Rats' 8 attack value for surer hits. PP and MM also have Mind Control and Incap that Deathstorm can boost for an average of 11 attack value.

Deathstorm also has a crazy Regen white power, so he can potentially just come back to life if he takes any damage from mopping up the map.
